Forget the rice!
It has become a grossly over-emphasized DIY solution for the water damaged smartphone.
Rice doesn’t work and it just causes dirt and bits of rice to clog up your charging port and headphone jack.
Step 1:
Pat dry your phone with a dry towel
(try not to smear any liquid to the edges and ports)
Step 2:
Power down your phone
(hold the power button down until the slider prompt appears and slide left to shut down)
Step 3:
Get it to a warm dry location and leave off for as long as you can
Step 4:
Bring it in to our shop so we can open it up and assess the damage. If the board inside has been damaged we can try our ultrasonic wash therapy, or micro-soldering techniques to save the data and the device if possible.
Come bring your soggy phones to us, there’s still hope to save those baby photos!
