When a computer stops feeling like yours
If pages take forever to load, strange toolbars appear, antivirus scare-screens pop up, or programs you never installed start running, malware is a real possibility. Infections do not only annoy you — they can steal banking logins, hold files for ransom, and spread to people you email.
The Repair Factory in Nelson treats malware as a full repair, not a quick scan. We image or back up what we can, remove the infection with tools your browser alone will not catch, and rebuild what the malware broke.
What we look for
Browser hijackers and fake “your PC is infected” pages
Crypto-lockers and other ransomware that encrypt family photos or work files
Credential stealers that target email, banking, and password managers
Background miners and remote-access tools that leave the machine hot and slow
How a cleanup goes
We start with a triage: how the machine behaves, what still boots, and whether your files are at risk. Then we remove the malware, repair the browser and startup items, install real protection, and walk you through what happened so the same download does not bring it back.
If files were encrypted or deleted, we pair cleanup with data recovery when possible. If you are mid-attack and cannot trust the PC, call us or book remote support — do not keep entering passwords on a compromised machine.
